Go with the 440 and dress it as a 426 wedge.Save the original motor for selling the car or a stock resto.You can't get it back if you damage it.

My only reason for using a 440 is because I could get one real cheap but to find a real 426 Max Wedge eng will cost and arm and a leg. And since the 426 and 440 look physically the same it's much cheaper for me to use the 440. Oh and my 63 is an original 383 car but I love the Max Wedge look and I need the crossram to finish the look that I hope to get one day when money is not so tight. Ron
