I need to replace the heater cable on my 73 Challenger. It has A/C, if that makes a difference. Anyone have the part #, and know where I can get one?

I'm gonna stick my nose out in this one.....I just used part # 3431459 from Mopar for the A/C temp cable in the '71 383 Challenger I'm restoring.
It's plenty long enough, but the only trouble with it was that the end eyes on the cable were too small to fit over the stub on the control lever and the lever on the water valve. I just opened up the end eye on the water valve end and filed the control lever a bit smaller to get the cable on.
The part number is a superceded one for the original '71 cable....that's probably why the ends are a bit different.
I don't have a '73 parts book, so I can't look yours up, but I wouldn't be a bit surprised if it is indeed the same cable. It routes from under the brake booster thru a insulation "nail" and then accross the edge of the cowl plenum.
Any parts guys out there that still have some of the old parts books? Chime in for this guy.

Thanks for the reply... I'm at work now, but I'll check when I get home, as I wrote down a part # from a guy that has one for sale. I'm hoping the # that you supplied matches.

Where did you buy your cable? Dealer?

Thanks, Allen

Sounds about right, I experienced the same thing. I have the part number at home that I used and I got it at the dealer.
