I recently purchased a '78 Warlock (D-150) and have some questions that I hope others can help with.

I've seen a lot of Warlocks/Lil Reds with chrome strips in the bed and I've also seen them with body color paint. What is the correct finish for a Warlock? Mine are body color.

A few guys have told me the front turn signal lights in the '78 were amber yet I have also read where they were clear with amber bulbs. Anyone know which are correct? Mine are clear with amber bulbs (and have Chrysler P/N's on them).

Does anyone know where I can find the equipment list ID codes for a '78? I know they differ by years and can't find a link anywhere to a site that has this info.

Thanks for any insights.

Had a 79 black warlock II, the wood and hold downs were black. The clear lenses I thought maybe were many 77's and early 78's? Dunno, I also had a 78 that had amber lenses. Did you try a Galen G book for some option codes?

I have had 6-7 Warlocks over the years, all the bed strips are body color. I have seen early 78's with clear lenses, but the majority had amber lenses, all my 78's did. These guys have lots of info on the Warlocks, and sell good parts too!

Body colour for the strips. I bought a new 78 D150 in January 78 and it had the clear lenses. the amber lenses came out some time later in 78.

Thanks for the insight/help guys. I appreciate it. I didn't know Galen had truck equipment codes but I'll check on that.

Update: Galen does have a book on the '61 to '80 trucks and I've ordered it.

Skip Gibbs or John Roberts are pretty good resources for Warlock info also - http://www.skipgibbs.biz/ http://www.lilredexpress.org/ http://www.lilreddad.com/.

We carry their books as well as many other parts - http://www.dodgeconnection.com/page/page/2822500.htm

As for your questions - early 78's would have the clear lens as carry overs and then they switched to Amber lens.

Originally the bed strips and wood were painted body color but many people swapped them out for polished strip and clear wood early on so they appear "original" now.
