I got a pair of Magnum head cores practically for free that I was planning on having cleaned up and then installed on my 318. I was talking to my brother last weekend and he suggested cleaning between the valves with a scuff pad to check for cracks before paying to have the heads magnufluxed, so I decided to try that tonight. Guess what? That's right I found a crack, but only in one chamber on one head. So is it worth getting it fixed or do I have to find a different core for that one now?
No longer taking $h!t from anyone!

or have stainless valve seat inserts installed on the one chamber that is cracked...
I had stainless exhaust valve seats installed on all my Mag exhaust seats as a preemptive strike before they cracked.

I didn't know the new valves were the same as stock, so I figured I'd take the valves that went with the heads.
I really don't know a fair price, PM me an offer

This has been discussed a lot. The general consensus is that they are all cracked in some form or fashion, and that they are not that deep. Unless it is some sort of race engine, just have them cleaned up and run them.
If you are paranoid, then your only option is to buy new, because any used ones you find will be the same.
and the new ones will crack too.

the EQ's shouldn't, as they have pressed in hardened seats instead of induction hardening the cast iron
