So me and a buddy own a 92 D150 that we lowered, put 4.10s in, as a518 trans rebuilt with shift kit, cat delete going into 2.5" flowmaster. It was just a fun little shop truck to run around town and to stick on the budget theme we stayed with the 5.2 that was in it and just did a cam swap and intake plenum mods.

Well now that 5.2 has bit the dust and in the meantime I had picked up a MP P5249516 computer so now we have the potential to add some more power to it. The question is, how much power? Theres going to be some obvious limitations but how much power will this computer really support? Will I need the Hughes Air Gap intake to really take advantage of it? Can I swap in a 5.9 with KB107s and a 240 @ .50 cam? I know the question itself is kind of generic but I think you see where Im going with this.

But my understanding is there's specific limitations to the obd1 systems even with the new computers, and I'm tying to avoid sending it it to be reflashed.
