Read the moparts tech section, Hookers are definitely OUT, Both Thorley and hedman Elite have 1&3/4"primaries, engine builder (Dvorak)recommended 2', I could probably live with 1&7/8 if i could find them, don't really wanna pay 5-800for TTIs to use on my "Rat rod" SE chall...BTW this is for my "mild" 500" bulldog headed solid cam RB 4 spd DOT tires 3500lb car.

I am building a 505 stroker and every engine builder I talked with recommends 2" primary with 3.5" collecter. I think the hooker 5209s are the least expensive. I will be running 1 3/4" headers for now because I have firm feel long steering arms but everyone has told me that i will lose around 50hp.

I think it would be worth the money for 2" headers.

OK, RTSE...but rea d our tech section here on Moparts if you are going with any angle plug head...I found the return rates at Summit particularly interesting.

I have 2" TTI's on my 446 with eddy heads....fit great. I'd use a 2" on a 500" motor.

The 2" Hookers CAN be made to work too....Unlawful had them on his challenger with eddy heads and no problems.

I tried the 1 7/8" Hooker supercomps and eddys and they burned boots constantly....I changed them out for the TTI's.

Thats all I know really....

I do think you could get away with the 2" supercomps...

I've heard the 1-7/8" "COMPS" (not supercomps) can be made to work...but I don't know that for sure. Those are only $170...

From what I have seen there is only one tube that has to be "loveingly massaged" on a set of Hooker 2" Super Comps with the angle plug heads. Contact Zippy, he has a set of 1 7/8" Hooker Comps on his Eddy headed Charger and i think he only had to mildly clearance one or two tubes for plug socket clearance. I have a set of 1 7/8" Super Comps for my Eddy headed 451 low deck and #2 tube is a nightmare, bashed the devil out of it to get plug boot clearance. #8 needed slight clearancing for the plug socket to go on. Everything else is good to go.

Yep. I have a set of 1 7/8 SuperComps on an Eddy headed 500 stroker and the inside curve of the number 2 tube has to be dented (hammered) in about 25% of it's diameter just to get the plug started into the head let alone put a boot on it. Just about every other plug is a PITA to install or remove and I used the Accel shorty's which are about 1/8" shorter. I have heard that the 2" SC's are better due to different tube positioning.

I use Hooker 2-1/8" with 4" collectors race adjustables, perfect for my 400 based 452 stroker. I use eddy heads, fit perfect.

OH is correct, with E heads and 1 and 7/8 Comps (not Super Comps)I had to very slightly ding 2 tubes on the passenger's side. No big deal, I've had the same plug wires since 2001 or so and have never burned a boot.

Will be switching to 2" Super Comps shortly, Looks like some mild dinging of #1 is all that will be needed.

i have e-heads on my 465 in a 73 charger.tti 2"fit well but anything less than WOT car was slower.it is heavy and not a lot of converter or gear(at the time).i have regular comp 1 7/8 hookers on there now.i had to clearance for the steering box and coupler(different clearance issues on 73-74).for more street than strip 1 7/8 would be fine.

The comp 1 7/8" work great on strokers if you replace the 3" collector with a 3 1/2", it's the collector that's the bottleneck mor than the primary diameter.

I use 2" Hooker Supercomps on my 440/496 Edelbrock heads in my 71 Charger Superbee. I only had to ding a couple places for frame clearance and inner fender on the passenger side. I do have to use a motorcycle/snowmobile type sparkplug socket on #1 plug. You know, one of those thin sheetmetal stamped cheapies that come in a motorcycle tool kit....works great.

I ran the 5903's Hooker comps with some small dempling on the #8 tube due to angle plug clearance, the Bulldogs may fit betterm I was thinking they used stock eshaust location, where eddys are moved 3/8's or so. Also the header collector was tight near the driver side orsion bar, this was in a 69 B body with RB engine. spark plug changing sucked but you get faster after doing it a few times.

Results are in, 5309 2" SC's work with fewer modifications than 5903 comps. The previous owner had already put one small ding in #1 pipe, and that's all it took. Right bank is easy as pie, no mods needed. So...either one works fine with minor tweakage, but the 2" ones need less work.
