There was a post on here back in Jan. regarding A-body pistol grip shifters. If I remember right right it had some good pics and info. I've done a search and can't seem to find it again. Can anyone help me out?I think it was right after new year, maybe the first week of Jan? Thanks

the one you want to use is from a 71-up b body without console.

That is correct. 71-74 B body with no console.
I have one in my A body that
works great. I did have an E body in when I
bought the car, but I did not have enough
ape index to make it work well.

Actually the correct handle would be 71-74 B body with a BENCH SEAT . I'm pretty sure that if you had a bucket seat car without the console you got the e body handle/location .

Nice but a bad example if the OP is running an 833 , your shifter is not in the stock location

The bench seat handle is the one to use , I had the short e body handle in a 72 duster and you had to reach too far forward for it in my opinion .

: if you got buckets with buddy seat you got that handle too not the short one
the console. one is same one without the console.it has the short one for bucket seat car e or b

Thanks for the reply guys, but I was actually looking for the original thread. The search function here sucks. I was looking for a specific post in that thread but don't remember who posted it. Probably why these threads keep reappearing, because it's impossible to find the original. If it was easier to find old posts, it would be easier to keep all the info in one place. Instead we keep rehashing topics over and over and over

What exactly are you trying to find out that hasn't been answered in this thread , aside from the pictures ?

Also the search function is only as good as the words input to search .

I think that's it. Can someone please link that for me. I copy/paste that in the Google/Moparts search and get 10pgs of want adds. Copy/paste the post# and get nothing. Copy/paste using Moparts search and it tells me key words are too short? [Edited by Moparts - Keep it clean] I'm looking to answer a question from a member now that I got my car out of storage. Guess I'm an idiot, but I'm just trying to help out.

I'm not calling you an idiot but if you want to find a CERTAIN strings of words you should click the ADVANCED button on the regular search page , that google search at the top is pretty much useless ,and it will tell you to put the string of words in " " , I put "A Body 4 speed users" in the search and got back 45 hits , most of which were the thread you were seeking , I bumped that thread to the top of the the Q+A for you .

you're welcome
