do the gen111 have to be prepped like the older blocks,such as line hone and decked or are they made close enough for a performance build without that?

I had to have mine line-honed on the mains, bored and honed on the cylinders with a deck plate, and decked for smoothness. It needed the same type of work any other block of any make/vintage that I built needed. The deck surface finish is key because of the MLS head gaskets the G3 engines use...

Thanks,thats kinda what i thought.i was just thinkin with all the new tech they could get things a bit closer.
