I need a new rear window seal for the G/Friends 55 Desoto.
Does anyone know of a source for a rear window seal for a 55 Desoto Firedome 4-door sedan?

Is the one from a 2-door or 4-door hardtop the same?

Well, I can't answer DeSoto specific, but I'll share the little that I do know. On my 56 Dodge, the hardtops (2 and 4-door) use the same front and back glass. The sedans (2 and 4-door) also use the same. I believe that the Dodge and Plymouth actually all use the same glass, but I am not sure how the DeSoto and Chrysler products fit into that mix, or if they do at all.

I don't know if that helps at all, but I hope so...

Thanks!
They look the same to me in pics, but the the ebag vendor that has one available for hardtops could only tell me that his catalog didn't list sedans.

If you have a '55-'61 Mopar anything, you need to visit www.forwardlook.net

according to my interchange book, the rear window interchange is : desoto,55-56 4dr. sedan, 56 4dr. hardtop
chrysler 55-56 4dr. sedan
imperial 55-56 4 dr.sedan & 4dr. hardtop
so, with this info, i would have to say the gasket should be the same. hope this helps.

Post the question on the mailing list if you haven't, instead of the website. I'm on the mailing list, but rarely go to the website.

If you don't get an answer, PM me, I might know of a source of info for you.

Thanks for the replies.

I bought one off ebag that's listed for a tudor only. The guy from the company said the catalog didn't list a 4 door so he couldn't say if it would fit or not.
I figured I'd take a chance.

I'll post the results once I know for sure, it might help someone else down the road.

Hello, Try Steele rubber reproduction's, I believe they are located in North Carolina. They have excellant rubber parts, and I know they have Desoto rubber. I looked in my office and can't find there 1-800 number. I hope this helps.
