Hey all, I took the trim off the tailgate of my RC and of course all the plastic retainers are broken. There are 3 different types involved and the parts catalog I have does not call out any of these retainers.LMC shows something in last years catalog, but it is discontinued in 2017.Does anyone have the OEM part numbers for these or a source.I have found the lower body side retainers...expensive but available. Thanks for your help!

I still have a parts truck tailgate together with the trim and retainers, but I am pretty sure if I took it apart I would be in the same situation you are in.

The funny thing about science is that if you change one miniscule parameter you change the entire outcome to the way you want it.

I think you could find some of the skinny fasteners. I also have thought about using two thinner clips in place of one wide clip. You know, one at the bottom edge and one at the top edge of the molding. I've never done it but think it would work. I've been lucky enough to salvage enough of the originals to make it work on my last truck of that era.

Definitely interested in a set if you find some. Workin' on it Mike.PM me with your contact info. When I get the NOS ones I may pursue the thought of having someone 3D print the plastic part with a separate bolt...we'll see.

Sometimes you can find stuff like this at a body shop. Wont be original but will keep the trim in place.
I have mechanical Aptitude. I can screw up anything.
