I google searched this but as usual came up with a wide variety of answers.
So what are you guys using for oil and filter, and how long are you going between oil changes??
There also seems to be a debate about filling the new oil filter up before installing it.

I think the filling vs. non filling is an old issue, if I remember right some people were pretty sloppy about getting foil debris in the engine. I always fill mine 2¢

All the big name Diesel oils are good. I shy away from Rotella because of the smell. Just pick the grade for your operating temperatures.

Fleetguard, Mopar, or Cummins filter.... one in the same. When you see how your oil filter fits on that 14 you won't fill it prior to install. Even on my 01 I've never filled it. Interval.... follow the minder your truck is equipped with and it will take you anywhere from 10-14K interval. I'd say anywhere from 7-9 k would be fine if your not comfy with extending it. We run Rotella 15-40 in the reels at work.
