I am just trying to get the most use from my engine and things are changing all the time.I have 9.5 pistons with .300 1st rind 1/16 with Victor heads and I would like to use the blower at low boost 8# with Sunoco 110.What would be a good ring choice getting away from hellfire?

Just wondering why you dont like hellfire rings? Cost? The toll they take on the bores?

At one time I did have a set of hellfire rings not seal but the second set did so I think it was an error on my part by too much idle time before getting a load on them.

Total Seal has a decent ring for boost, I need to look at the box here in a bit but the price is near equal to hellfire rings if I recall both around $300.

Yes the toll on the bore.summit has hellfire for 166$ I think a n/a ring for 13/14cr is what I am looking for.I want to use low boost and not go for max speed so much as go rounds and use a n/a intake maybe and no boost.

There classic race series rings are not priced bad and might work for your needs.

I tend to use alot better rings then I need and just used the Total Seal CS AP Advanced Profile rings thats a steel top ring with 12.0 comp and a 250 shot of spray in my street racer vs the hellfire rings.

Don't know if it's helpful, but the 383 in my Fury has been happy enough with 5lbs of turbo boost with what has to be 30yr old ductile rings from a cheap reman house rebuild.

I think I could do better with a steel top ring and lasting longer but I only see total seal with that. The speed pro and Ross rings I listed have just iron top and that won't work. Thanks for your info.

I am in the process of installing a new set of S/S custom top rings for my turbo small block, I discovered moly coming apart on my old set, mild engine, conservative tune, pump gas. I have an odd bore size so they had to be custom from Total Seal.
