Gotta like photo shop. I try not to think, it gets me in trouble. The red wheels look more period correct. the torque thrust are more a sixties muscle car thing. But what do I know? maybe some chrome reversed with baby moons?

First thought was it was goin down hill real fast!
Then my neck started hurting a little looking at the picture sideways.
I like the Torque Thrusts, but maybe some chrome reverse with the baby moons might look cool too.......Gene

Its not photo shop. I printed a pic of the car and of the wheels and cut them out. But I found a program on the computer that I started messing with so a clearer pic of these and Chrome reverse will be posted later. I have a couple sets of wide whites and I have a set of 14" torque thrust style rims and a set of 15" ET torque thrust style. I also have 14" and 15" aluminum slots. It will almost certaintly be Black Suade. 318 will reside in the engine bay.

I turned my screen...

I like it both ways. As to what's "period correct", I guess that would depend on what period it got hotrodded in eh? I like it either way!

That's a hard call. I like the Torque thrust's but I think that car needs a more `50's' style setup. I am going to run a set of white walls and caps on my `50 plymouth convertible.

yes that's it.
Photo shop is cut and paste without the paper. Keep playing with it ,it can grow on ya.
Yeah the period thing isn't an acurate discription. Guess I have only seen these types of cars done late fifties early sixties street rod style.
It's all relative.
It is a personal thing.
I like the chrome rims though.
The torque thrust would look nice as a gasser type car.

Should I go with a 318 or 360. I have both.

Guess that depends on how your going to drive it. Generally, a 318 will get better gas milage then a 360 (2-4 mpg with = build), but a 360 is easier to get more hp out of. I've done both, but the last 3 have been 360s (actually the last one had a 3.9, but I didn't and wouldn't of installed it). Its a hot rod, right? But then again, if your driving 10,000 miles a year, 2-4 mpg can add up pretty fast.

I like the chrome reverse. Gene

727 without a doubt. Even built up 904s break too easily. If you go for the OD auto, make sure to get the 727 version, and install a big trans cooler.

A 4 speed or 5 speed OD would work too, but they are more work to get right in most rods.

The chopped top just doesn't work for me, I think it makes the car look out of porportation. Most 40s & 50s already look too long to me, the chopped top makes them look even longer. Gene
