I don't disagree with anything he says. Kids these days would rather play video games or screw around on their phones than watch fuel cars or do the work needed to race. EPA and DHS? He's spot on. It may be delayed a few years given the results of the last election, but it's coming. Those agencies are all powerful. It won't be an all of a sudden deal, rather death by a thousand cuts. Anyone paying attention to what the EPA's been up to? Anyone paying attention to the state of professional drag racing? They can barely get 16 cars to show up. The import stuff has mostly dried up. The young people I see racing are into small tire, EFI, turbo type stuff, and they couldn't care less about the NHRA pros.
If the results don't match the theory, change the theory.

Electric cars my rear end. They'd have to pay me. If it doesn't make noise and run off of something explosive, I'm not interested. Electric car drag racing? May as well do this... https://www.facebook.com/classicsdailyy/videos/288955784863986/

judge the formula e stuff, does it have big ratings, don't know but it is too quiet for me Did you hear that electric dragster leave the line? All I heard was the tires a little. How boring is that to watch.

How boring is that to watch. Exactly. It's the noise and visual that get people excited when watching Top Fuel cars racing. It makes it a spectacle that they want to talk about later, describing it to others.
Kayse can't keep up at all now. lol

Yes it is the noise and the pounding on your chest when a top fuel car leaves the line.. love it.. but the electric stuff is cool.. I've played with with the Formula SAE cars for years and now they have electric versions also.. its coming whether we want it or not.. might be 20 years or less.. who knows

Nothing personal against Garlits, but we are a loooooonnnggg way from having 185 mph electric dragsters replacing fuel cars.
And as a side note, his claim that nitro will go away when someone uses it to blow something up, that has already happened. That's why Homeland Security is involved now. It's been controlled for over 20 years already since McVeigh used it to blow up the Murrah Building.

Drag racing will die out because of lack of participation, electric cars will not save it, you would have to get these 20somethings and under to get off their phones and tablets. yes there are a few younger people in it, and next generation there will be less.

I think electric cars are cool. Maybe its because I am a commercial/industrial electrician.. lol So for those that bash electric cars I bet you'd change your tune behind the wheel of this.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wbsp17w3P4k

Soooo torched a head on the white car right before MATS. I told my buddies, I'll take the electric "Fyatt" as we call it. They laughed. Well, I threw it in the trailer and took it to Vegas. Had a blast. Served as golf cart, race car, daily driver all in one. Silently cruised thru the swap meet loading it up with torque converter and other parts. Ended up in the winners circle on Sunday. The 64 will be back to making noise soon but, was so peaceful and serene cruising down the quarter after stomping the rheostat pedal Felt like listening to smooth jazz while snacking on an organic granola bar & sipping a soy milk latte Finals video:----> http://sendvid.com/nhkj1yc0
