Getting ready to put the 8-3/4 under my Duster. I am starting with my stock leaf springs and Caltracs off my old Duster. I seriously doubt I will ever put enough steam in this thing to go faster than 12.0s. What would be a good shock to put on it? 340/904/3300 stall/4.30 and spool, 3500ish w/me in it so far. Thanks!

I ran a '71 Cuda back in the 80's, 3550lbs+, 365hp 340/727/4200 stall/4.30's/10x28's, stock 8.75" posi, stock leafs with clamps/snubber, Imperial shocks w/extensions, hooked good, ran 12.3's NA,> 11.01 with N20 exactly the same set up at 535hp. Wouldn't think you need any exotic r/shock, perhaps some calvert adjustables?.

In the "old days" I used to go to the back of the paper catalogues and look up shocks by measurement for my Cuda. I used Monroe pickup truck shocks when I was running 12's, with S/S springs.

the caltrac shocks r good At your power level, and even way above it, the Calvert/Rancho 9 way shocks are pretty cheap and work great. They worked good on my car running mid 9s.

Calvert Shock is a good piece and more than you should need. You could likely get away with cheap truck/ imperial or whatever shocks for less if you're looking to save some bucks.
