I ran the fuel pump/filled the carb/made sure it wasn't leaking, but didn't check for spark...didn't need to.....fired right up

Only issue was, my FAST A/F meter crapped out. I really need to get that working so I can get rid of that part throttle blubber/over-rich thing. So, that might be $300 down the toilet, oh well...I'll call them today and see if they will fix it.

Other than that, seems exactly like it was in '13....

If you do need to replace it you can get better stuff for less money these days. Sometimes taking 5 years off is a good thing since technology marches on. AEM sells wide band kits in the $150 range. If you already have a sensor then you can save even more money.

They've had the little gauge for 150 since '09-ish, yep it is ok. I believe

They don't have anything that Will log and play back in that kind of
Price range, which was the appeal of the fast meter. No laptop required,
On screen playback, but it's only appealing if it works . When working the fast can play back 50 minutes on its own display.

Sure but if you have a working gauge you can also point your phone at it and record the gauge while making a quarter mile run or blasting up a long hill. Then play back the video and see what is going on.

I'm starting to use video for a bunch of stuff these days and I'm finding it to be really valuable.

Best to set the video up so it captures the tach as well as the wideband so you will know what is going on. Poor man's data recorder!

Yeah, I cranked it for awhile with the spark plugs out/valve covers off to get the oil flowing, so a little overflow was inevitable.

I index the dist with a marker and set the timing with the cap off helps.Do you have a priming rod to turn the oil pump?

After 4 years what did you do fuel wise, with the gas in the tank and in the carbs. Great to see you get it running again.

I'm going to be restarting mine after 6 years. Expecting Lots of fuel related clean ups to do. tank /carb/ lines etc.

I do, but I had pulled all the lifters out for a look and reassembled. By the time I turned it over with a ratchet + the starter setting valve lash, priming shaft seemed redundant....there was actually quite a bit of oil still clinging to the rockers even after sitting that long... so I just spun it awhile with the starter like I already was doing.



Actually a great question...Alot can go wrong!...already had Sta-Bil in the tank, and I shut off the pump and ran the engine until the carb was empty 4 years ago. Then when I got ready to fire it up again, I pulled the lines off the carb, put them in a gas can and ran it until the tank was empty, Put the old stabilized gas in my wife's daily driver, and put fresh gas in the old Plymouth so it wouldn't have any problems. then after putting the fuel lines back on, I filled the carb and checked for leaks before firing it. Bought an extra carb kit, will probably go through it later. Hopefully I can go get my 10, pound on the car some more and then focus on metal/paint/interior, tired of having the ugliest car in town LOL. The lines seem OK but will take a better look once it is in the shop....

It's a .630 roller, custom grind from Porter Racing Heads. I think its 262/266 at .050 on a 110 or right around that.

Emotions are high/every little step is a milestone/there is a really strong sense of fun that I have been missing for a long time. My little family is into it (as you can see), and that really,really helps.
