I put a T/A steering box in my 71 cuda, with the correct pitman arm- Is the Idler arm different as well? I have never heard that- but looks like it would turn faster one way- the way it is now? Any suppliers?

Kirby-Yes the arm is different. It will say fast ratio actually cast into the arm.One of the steering gear places repops them or if you need an original,I have a NOS one.PM me if interested.Sorry for the confusion,I was thinking of the pitman arm.As far as I know, the idler arm is the same.

The linkage will look uneven with the fast ratio pitman arm installed.I think the pitman arm is actually origianally a C body arm that they "adapted" at the last minute to work with the fast ratio steering box.The result,a crooked looking steering linkage that does steer correctly.

Umm...Actually No... The steering isn't right it has a disimilar Ackerman angle from lock to lock...The factory let it go that way figyring no one would notice/complain... The aftermarket suppliers were selling a C body idler arm & calling it a T/A arm...
