well, being A bodies never got 6 packs from fact, that can make a difference, BUT from the pics I have found... a 69/70 B body gets hard to fit a 2 speeds motor into a 6 pack car. 71 and lates ( B and E ) doesn't have this problem due the diff position of these motors

I haven't found a pic of 69/70 B six pack with 2 speeds, but 71/74 are easy ( 2 and 3 speeds )

Maybe the indexing of the motor on an A body makes diff too
