I always liked the factory stuff. Even the Ford Thunderbolt ones. The cowl hoods on Camaros and Chevelles are great too! The Chrysler shaker is up there as one of the best and far better looking than the Ford or Pontiac. The A12 and the 68 Hemi ones are downright mean looking to me.
It's always kind of an afterthought when you put modified motors in cars. There has to be something there or else the engine is sticking out of the hood ratrod style.
Now as far as tube frame cars, I thank all the guys that did the research and gave us something that works and is pretty cool looking as well!

I think these hoods look good on the Camaros, but they call them Sunoco's

That looks great, I love it. Definitely looks more proportionately correct than the Landy lump you were considering, IMHO.

I'll keep a close eye on it. My previous pin-on T/A-style hood wasn't nearly as rigid in the front of the hood and needed an extra pin in the front center to keep it from bowing up above 100 MPH.

iagree I like it. It being taller than expected is a good thing IMO. Now you have room for some big stuff later on instead of just barely clearing now.

Now this is just a personal thing and as such doesn't mean squat to anyone else. But MOST scoops are ugly and do nothing for the lines of a car. I do agree with Dave that "Shakers" are pretty cool, but first came on Mustangs as far as I know. Most other Mopar scoops are pretty damn ugly in my eyes. I have run a HEMI scoop, a maxie scoop and a six pack scoop on my own car. Didn't like any of them but they served a purpose and at the time the only forward facing scoop allowed was a factory type. Whatever they came on, cowls just flow well on most cars, look like they belong and cover the carb and that's what we are after.

Now, do I personally like the scoop pictured here? No, but I don't like T/A scoops either. Do I think this looks MUCH better than the proposed "lump"..........absolutely. In the end, it only matters if Brad likes it.

Most also hate the "lexan" box poking through the hood, me included. BUT, they serve the purpose and makes it easy to see, because you can see through the scoop. Currently, we just let the throttle bodies poke through the hood, because a scoop means nothing on an EFI car. Do I like that? Not really, but it is what it is...........LOL!!!

Our taste change over our lifetimes and thank God for that or we would all still have auto line Centerline wheels on our cars. I used to hate cowl hoods on Dusters but I would love to have one now. Probably will be ordering a 6 inch in my near future.

Completely understandable. I'm still trying to get past my initial reaction when we set the hood in place, I stepped back, and my brain shouted: "Holy Sh!t!!! That thing's F*%$ing HUGE!!!"

I'm hoping it grows on me. Regardless, it's paid for.

Birds, cats, puppies, tennis balls, runaway iguanas, Frisbees... yep, they can all fit through that hood's openings.

Yes, it'll have an air cleaner to filter out the birds, cats & puppies. No sure about iguanas & Frisbees, though.
