My Road Runner is almost done! I just have to get the front and rear glass in. Here is some video I posted on you-tube. Enjoy...

You're right. I only took the car up to maybe 40 MPH on the street in front of my house. The highway run will need to wait until the glass is in and I get an alignment!

it's funny that almost every video of someone doing a burnout, there is someone laughing or chuckling in the background

Thanks for all the nice comments! I got this car 17 years ago and worked on it off and on. I got more serious with it about 5 years ago and started doing all the little items. I got a lot of great advice first from the MML and later from Moparts. Once all the little stuff was done I ran into a road block trying to find a body shop that would do the body to the levels I wanted. I can't say enough good things about the shop I found just a few hours away in North Carolina. The guys at Clark Classic Restorations had the body about 7 months and when I got it back it was just as I had envisioned it. I have had plenty of fun(and fustration) putting it all back together over this last year and now finally getting a chance to enjoy it in a different way by actually driving it...
I am in debt to everyone who has helped me one way or another on this forum...Thank You.

Jim

Did you used to live in Iowa?
If so, PM me. I may have some history.

Yes, Yes, No. I'm good with the history of my car, with the exception of the first owner who had the car less than a year. (Anyone know Mr. Richard Dick from the Buffalo, NY region in 1968?) The car stayed in NY until '87 or so and then it has been in the Norfolk/Virginia Beach area since.

I'm always game for another story especially if it involves a car that looks like mine...moonshine runner? bank robbery? Hollywood models?

Jim

jim, heres my 68 hemi RR, 4 speed survivor, bought this car in 1990, in palo alto CA.
never touched it except i had to repaint the left side, the sun bleached out the drivers side it was sitting since 1979. beautiful car you got there.

I have a REAL soft spot for red, 1968 Hemi Road Runners. That is a very nice looking car.

....there is nothing like driving my 1968 Hemi Dart around town and having people looking at you like you're nuts!!

Yes, actually I'd prefer a black interior but I wouldn't kick it out of my driveway for having a red interior

Jim, congratulations on getting it together, you've truely done a top notch job on it. It looks and sounds awesome (I love the sound of a solid lifter motor).
Also, thanks for the compliments to the shop. I was glad to be a small part of this special project, and it was a pleasure dealing with you.

Now go take some big trophies with it and drive it!

Steve
