I've got a novel idea. How about we don't care if a car is matching numbers so nobody really pays a premium for those little numbers. Remember that the Chevy crowd started all this matching number stuff because that is the only way you can tell if a car has the appropriate motor or not. Mopars have the motor code in the vin numbers. Ah the days when nobody cared about such things and we all had fun and drove our cars instead of seeing them as investments.

I'm going to show my ignorance of, and lack of caring about the #'s stuff Shouldn't the first two characters in that pic be BO######, instead of OB###### ? I thought the 2 letters were always transposed on motor and transmission numbers?

Going off on a tangent here, but I have a question....

If your going to spend $275,000.00 on a numbers matching car, that has all the problems corrected that were presented at a car show - "color shading of suspension pieces. These items have all since been corrected."-

Would you all buy it, for that price, with the center console NOT installed? (things that make you say Hmm...)

I worked in an aluminum foundry from 1993-97 and we stamped everything by hand and looks just like the hand stamp posted. The #'s, stamps, etc, to get worn out over time. I was an inspector, so I got to critique everyones work all the time.

Its all in the operator, mood, stamp, etc...

Who ever stamped the block was in a good mood and had a good set of stamps. Or even took pride in his work.

It sounds to me like he got dinged for some nit-picky wrong shade or sheen of paint on the suspension and corrected it. What's wrong with that? Where does it say the car came with a console? My bucket seat GTX was console delete, again I don't see the problem.
Travis..
