My cousin has a '99 Dakota 4x4 with 5.2 and 5 speed transmission. He now needs a transfer case. I have one from my old '00 Durango 5.9 auto. Will it fit the manual trans?
Thanks.

Check the tag numbers and input spline count. But I think they swap if both are mechanical or both are pushbutton.

Both are part-time, mechanical shift. I would have to pull mine out of the vehicle to check the spline count. shocked
Stopped by a local junkyard and while the lady on the desk was very easy on the eyes and helpful, I never could get her to understand my question. They had several on hand for $250 so I may just pass that info on to my cousin.
Thanks. up

The auto will be 23 spline. Some manual were 23, others 29.

Wouldn't hurt to try to read the I'd tags on the cases.
