I just got back from helping beesting and friends work on the 38. Gotta tell I'm having a ball. Having a couple of friends helping makes things go so much smoother. Last night we pulled the bed off, welded some spacers where needed and got the bed back on and all lined up.Tonight all the leakes were repaired. That 360 sounds so good with open headers. This is really coming along good.
This would be so much easier if I knew what I was doing...

Can I ask a couple questions about the truck? If these details are somewhere her on Moparts and I missed them, then I apologize.
Is it sitting on stock frame, or something newer? Is the firewall stock/original? Will the engine clear the sides acceptably? Having the 37's coming now, inquiries may become commonplace. I hope you don't mind...
Thanks!

Thanks, beesting. Any chance you've got some more detailed pic of the frontend install? One is coming without a frame, and one with. I located a Dak for reasonable $$$ but was wondering which frontend I'd prefer in the stock frame. I was thinking MII, but I have a couple transverse T-bar units, so I could make use of what I already have onhand...

Thanks for the pic!
No MII for me! Bucks down. TIGHT budget...especially with work the way it is right now.
If you get the chance, can you get a pic of how you've mounted the rear of the crossmember? The front part is good and clear, but the rear point looks like it's hidden behind the knuckle and brakes and all. If you can't get a pic, even a decent written description would be a good start to help me out.
Thanks Again!

I had to work ovetime fri and sat and couldn't believe how much got done in those couple of days. When I left today it was off the jackstands. The exhaust is on.Carpet is on the floor, shifter and boot completed.Door and back glass are in. More stuff gets done every day This thing should be roadworthy within a couple more weeks barring a disaster.AND, we are still having fun doing it.
This would be so much easier if I knew what I was doing...

Wow, when you guys are done that truck, I have a 41 that needs a bunch of guys to come help me finish (or start, depending on if you're a glass half full or empty kind of guy)! But bring your snow shovels and winter coats, because the truck is buried and my garage isn't heated! But a plus is that our beer is good here ! Nice work Matt

Beesting may have missed this question so I will answer as best I can for him.The seats are out of a Chrysler of some sort, but not sure what.Room for the driver is very limited and he is going to look into different seats.I think a low back bucket would work real well and Beesting thinks the back seat from a caravan would fit nicely.
Thanks ... I wonder if it would be tight. I had thought about Import Seats, alittle smaller, just a thought

In my 35 sedan, I used a pair of buckets from a ford fairmont. They were low back, thin, and narrow seats that were actually fairly comfy. Even the fairmont seats sat side by side, you had to be friends with whoever was riding with you. Tried seats from a front drive Mopar, but they were too high of a back and too wide. In my 54 pickup, I used a bench seat from a 4 door valent, it was narrow and set just under the rear window ledge. That 54 was a bit wider then the 30s cab would be, but there was still room on both sides of the valent seat, it might still fit. My 50 truck has an unknown set of buckets with the adjustable seat backs, those work out well, you set the back angle which lets you move the seat farther back. Gene
