I recently bought a '65 Coronet 500 HT and am in the process of collecting photos and information to use as references during the resto. My question is this. I have not seen a woodgrain dash in any photos, but there is a woodgrain (false woodgrain) dash in the car that I own. Was this dash a true option or am I seeing the bad handywork of a previous owners? Please advise and please pass along any photos that you might have of this dash or more importantly the correct dash if this woodgrain deal is in fact incorrect. Thanks in advance.

I have seen a lot of 65 coronets, and never seen wood grain anything in any of them. My bet is that they saw one of the later model wood grain chryslers and thought it was cool and added it.

I had a low-mileage 1-owner unmolested '65 500 in the late '70s-early '80s, no woodgrain on the dash anywhere. Not shown in any Dodge brochure I have for the '65 Coronet, either. IIRC, the dash trim panel was chrome & silver.
