Chief saying his engine is hurt, and he could blow it up putting the crank/Rods out of it....
And how, because he doesn't have an engine diaper, that could make him crash....
This was at a track event...
Shouldn't his car have to be legal and require a diaper for the et/speed he's going?

I'm still surprised by his comment about Kye Kelley riding his (Chief's) coattails. Umm, Kye has outrun him every time they've raced on the show, except for Monday night, but that doesn't really count as outrunning him to me.

I heard the comment about Kye also and told my that Kye had kicked Chief's a$$ every time I saw them race.

I took that comment to mean something along the lines of " kye was a nobody, until we brought him on the show....and his only claim to fame is beating me every time....."

The very thing that Chief is famous for, Kye is better than him at it and has proven it every time they've raced. Chief has no place accusing Kye of riding his coattails in my opinion. Just my twocents

Funny about the remark of Chief getting a big head...that's exactly what I keep hearing from people that have met him recently.

Ya and he keeps saying about everyone having a Pro mod and meanwhile he ran his car in Pro mod at the US Nationals. I hate that show, now stop bothering me Oprah is back on.

Just remember it is "entertainment" from all directions, if it were real it would suck and turn out would be low.....hmmmm kinda like a nhra event.

I like some of the older shows that are on you tube.

Yep he tried and failed to qualify by something like 4 tenths. From what I understand, NHRA made a bunch of PM racers mad that he even got a shot to be there. Guess you have to be a racer and accumulate a certain amount of points to even show up and attempt to get in the big show?

I understood those statements as "Kye came on the show and now has his own version", and "everybody's running ProMods, so I have to as well".
They're racers, not English Lit scholars, so I cut 'em slack on some of the comments.
I used to race with a bunch of Ford guys, and if you'd had a mic on us, you'd think a fight was about to break out, but we were just bustin' each others' stones and were pretty close. Competitive, but close.

A big head? hasn't happened physically yet. Chief must be planing ahead though and buying those extra extra large ball caps that make him look like a dork.

It's entertainment value making that statement. Saw the car in Georgia at lights out race before the race in Texas and he had a oil retention device on the car.

I also agree he has gotten a big head, and Kye has beat him every time and deserves his fame from doing that.

Its a TV show....Drama is what keeps you tuning in, whatever kind of drama that is. I actually saw this weeks show the other night. Just a for instance, not that it mean much but follow me here. I saw Farmtruck and Asian "sneaking" their dog into a hotel in Texas. Well it was a LaQuinta hotel, they ALLOW dogs and have for some time. It just ads to the "drama" of the show. Just like Justin's statements about Kye, nothing more. Contrived TV drama to keep the viewer there.

Yep...they aren't speaking to real racers when they do the commentary.

This Justin guy, where did he come from? He shows up and doesn't really do anything other than make comments to get other drivers mad. He talks like he works on cars, but he never turns a wrench. He is there to add DRAMA. If inis BS was real Reaper would tear him in half.

Kye really IS riding Chiefs coat tails. He is just another out of town guy that beat chiefs, then when it went to 3 times beating him Kye got his own show. To till last weeks Texas show, the only OKC race Kye lost was to daddy Dave Sonoma in NO couple seasons ago, am I right?

Chiefs role is what keeps the show moving forward and watchable. How about the New Orleans show? Does not work, miserable to watch, I tried it.

And here I thought this was going to be questioning the statement "we gotta sand the bearings down" Chief has made a few times?

For the comment I was referring to anyone who has knowledge of drag racing. In real life test and tune doesn't count lol wink

There's definitely some goofy stuff on the show here and there but I really enjoy it, it's way better than watching anything else on tv. I love seeing the cars and the races.

The drama is almost as much fun as watching Warren Johnson and Greg Anderson go at it used to be.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.

its just a TV show...given the amount of white stuff on the ground in MI...it will be the only racing I see for a while, so I'll keep tuning in...
