I am swapping out my 2000 4.7l dakota 4x4 engine, and I've sent core back so I have no comparison. On the new long block there is a threaded hole,on top of the block (about 12mm) in the center of the front of the block between the plastic throttle body assembly and the timing cover. I don't know what goes there! I'm at the point of dropping the engine in so any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks Bdub!

I just looked at my 2006 4.7 not sure if they are the same.
But a brass sensor with a 2 wire plug on top. brown/orange and black/green wires. Water Temp sensor?
