I would go with the 150 one from a good seller. any possibility you could kit yours? it is matched exactly to your vehicle and rebuilders are put together from a basket of 2245 parts. they work & not a dealbreaker at all but wont be an exact match. A gallon of carb cleaner, a kit and a float and a big metal bowl from Goodwill & you're set. the whole carb does not need to be immersed, pour some soup on the insides of the main body then repeat several times over a day & bristle brush the outside & it'll come out pristine. take care on the small parts expecially the cluster assy with the thin brass tubes & spend some time sloshing it carefully to get it clean to restore good metering

Last time I bought a reman Holley from the parts store the thing has jetted 6 sizes too rich. Had to break the seal, voiding the warranty, to check and rejet. Might be wise to consider this instead https://www.holley.com/customspeedshop/

The carb I have now has been rebuilt twice, at least. The metering rods have some decent deterioration and in general it comes across as being "worn out" to me. Do you have a Holley 2245 or a Carter BBD? Holley uses a power valve, Carter has metering rods. You may be ID'ing the power valve piston as a metering rod. The difference between the Holley 2210 and the 2245 is the power valve piston, 2210 two step, 2245 gradient. I tried a Holley 2245 on my '84 D100 (225, 833od). I had trouble getting the power valve system to work properly. Something was in the drilled passages that I couldn't flush out without removing lead plugs. I found a small BBD off a 318 with tight throttle shafts, put a kit in it and forgot about the 2245. The large BBD was used on 360s and 383s. If they are like the small version, check for throttle shaft slop if your looking for a core to rebuild. If you buy rebuilt this isn't a problem, carb rebuilers bush the bores. Buy from a store nearby with a good return policy. Many factory rebuilds are lacking in quality and have to be exchanged, sometimes more than once.

It has a static metering rod [2] that stay in the top plate any protrude ito the jet. Perhaps my terminology is off but it appears to look like an Edelbrock metering rod. It does have a power valve the base. My concern with the eBay one is what has been mentioned, if it's way off, i am up a creek. Parts store may be able to swap them out. The carb I have had been rebuilt a time or two and probably needs more than a basic rebuild kit. The Holley custom rebuild sounds interesting, and expensive. I'll see what they say for cost. I'm just looking for a good driving carb, max power is not much of a concern. Any idea if the BBD would be a direct swap for the 2245?

I've had on and off reliability issues, mostly low speed/idle problems. All else appears to check out other than what the carb is doing for me, it seems to be questionable.

The Edelbrock AVS and factory 4bbl manifold I have in the garage is tempting..Perhaps I'll just swap it all out. Speedway has a 4bbl to 2bbl adapter which might be able to be reversed so you could run a 4 bbl. If you ever consider that let me know & I can dig out mine & check & also I will measure what 2bbl bolt pattern it has. that might be more hokey than just swapping intakes but sometimes it has its place

Autoline products is no different than any other mass ruiner of good cores. I purchased a BBD from rockauto that was done by them. The base was belt sanded to make it flat (not) and the throttle shaft was loose as hell. Take it all apart and see where they left the throttle shaft and blades installed when they sand blasted the base casting. A mismatched pile of junk in every respect. Their sales pitch is fluff and nothing more. WOW that is surprising as my experiences have been quite the opposite. makes me wonder if someone returned their core as a " NOT NEEDED" for full credit and it got restocked. It came in a sealed package from them. Total crap in the box in every respect. No better than the POS that was on there already. I put an Edelbrock AVS on, made a few adjustments and drove the van for 3 more years with zero troubles until I wrecked it this past May.

'Greenfire' on the IFSJA forum had good experience having a stock 2bbl motorcraft rebuilt by www.carburetorusa.com This was a few years ago, but the website is still up, which is a good sign they're still in business. Location is South Jersey, near Philadelphia. Thread at IFSJA (yes my other car is a Jeep)

since you are considering replacing it what about new bushings for the throttle shafts? (if yours are worn/& if likely the cause of the intermittent driveability issue). bushing kits on eBay are dirt cheap (the ones with the fixed size reamer ain't) but I bought an adjustable reamer from Grainger for like $20 to do 1/2" ID dist bushings(yours would be a different size than that but still should be cheap), adj from 15/32 to 17/32) and there are a multitude of vids on utube on how to do it that will help you. plus you will have the satisfaction of diagnosing/fixing what you have right in front of you
