I found a decent V8 5spd Dakota that I was thinking of using under a 47 Dodge pickup. Does this still work with the newer trucks? Are they wider than the earlier Dakota trucks?

I believe the width is the same as the older Dakotas, but they are a bit wide for a 47 pickup. Think Ron may have pictures of one he has done, or almost done. There was a 47 posted over on the HAMB board mounted on a late model Dakota chassis, think it has also been posted here too, look back through previous posts. Gene

My concern is that most swaps seem to be using the older Dakota frames. The Dakota's seem to get bigger every time a new style comes out.

that may be true but if your not afraid of a little more work, its pretty easy to make the fenders a little wider, just add 2-4" where the fender meets the grill area and add the same amount where the fender meets the body Ron....
