I'm getting a little worried, I sent him a $450 cashiers check for a carb on Jan 23rd and haven't received it yet.
He's a busy guy and was very hard to get ahold of to make the purchase, I spoke to him once when he received the money and said he'd ship it. I usually ship stuff the day after I'm paid so waiting this long seems unusual to me.

Any one know Dan Speck from Arkansas? Here's his profile.
I couldn't get ahold of him this weekend through email or phone.
I'm hoping to fire my motor soon and need this carb.

Thanks for any help, I'm not calling him out here since it hasn't been WAY too long, just a little nervous that I can't get ahold of him.

I got a set of TTI headers from him a few years ago, off this board. It took awhile to get them and he was hard to get ahold of, but they came in good shape as advertised.

That's good news, better than the private messages I've received.

Still can't get ahold of this guy.
And now his phone message box is full.

What's next? Road trip?

Thanks! That phone number you listed was different than the one I have, so I did a *67 and called it. He answered and said he lost his cell phone, was out of town, and he shipped the carb this morning. That's great if he did ship it, but if I don't receive it towards the end of next week I'll let you know. And yes that's his address. Thanks for your help!

A guy paypal'd me money for taillights last week and I shipped them the next morning. I can't believe it takes some people 3 or 4 weeks to ship a box.

I agree, there's no reason anyone should take more than a couple of days to ship out parts they sell. Funny how he just happened to ship the carb today after you started this post and after "catching" him on the phone. I hope the carb shows up as described...

Bob I hope you get your goods, still wish there was a rating system for the for sale section on here. Heck I just opened the box of parts I bought from you that was sent early summer and it was all as you said but some people you know you can trust. Good luck.

glad i could help. there arent too many mopar guys around here and Ive asked my buddy in cabot if he knows this guys and he said no. he has a 71 RR in his avitar and Ive never seen that running around either.

Let me know if he sends it. You probably just should have told him I was coming to pick it up. Just tell him to give you a cross street cause rosewood isnt showing up on mapquest.

let me know if you get it. and if not, we'll figure on a plan

68fastback - I also wish there was some sort of rating system, but since we don't have one, these posts can be helpful. Now everyone can stand by and make sure this deal doesn't go south, and they also expose how certain individuals handle their parts buying and selling. Prosport definitely did the right thing by posting this thread. Obviously, parts are now on the way.

Well, I hope the carb is on it's way Tony. He was suppose to call me back 2 days ago with a tracking number, that hasn't happened yet.

Update:

Seller lied about shipping the carb, but after receiving a letter from me he did ship it and I received it today. I guess my persistance paid off. The carb looks great, hope to find out how it runs soon!

Seems like a decent guy on the phone, just shouldn't be selling parts if he doesn't have time to ship them.

Thanks you guys for your advice and offering to help.
