On another post the engineer said it was added because Fiat needed 50 innovative things so to get truck of the year, even if it was stupid. Buy the 3/4 ton truck, still has a shifter. Just larger tires.

Finally a HUSKER again
Just wait a few months...

I see in the TRX concept truck they have a "gated" shifter again, and there has been enough issues with this dumb AZZ design to warrant a newer design. The newer challengers, chargers have a better designed shifter in them, and the one Ii see in the TRX concept is similar.

I would already own one, but I literally cant stand that crappy shifter design. I haven't replaced any at all, but they have caused plenty of confusion and grief.

That's because you actually have to be an operator to run that one.

The new one with the GPS and all, not so much. Plot your course, punch in the coordinates, engage, Mr. Crusher.

I ran one briefly years ago that made your old one look like your new one. Manual trans with a hand clutch and a 6-71 Detroit. It was either an early Champion or an Adams. Can't remember which now.

I could run it but I figured out pretty quick I lacked the talent and about 8 arms of having enough hands to operate it.

I love the rotary shifter. Only thing that would make it better would be if it were a push button like on the 58 Plymouth Suburban I learned to drive on.

All of my shifters come from out of the floor.
