After owning about a gazzion of these you would think that I should know this. Seems most of my cars were missing it. Some had a Tee style shaft and some the tube style. Which is correct for 71B's? Also what about the base? Black, gray,?? Any markings? AB? Thanks

OK, so is this another mid-year thing? My RR was built 10/70. I'll have to check my 71 SSP.

The original in my Oct 70 build 71 Bee had the Tee style with a black base and mechanism. Sold the car back in April so I cannot help on any markings.
What color was your hook? Chrome bumpers?

Have a friend looking for this jack. I have a couple of these hooks, one gray and one green which are correct for chrome bumpers. Just wondering which color an early car would get.

I've seen both masts but tube seems to be more common. Bases I've seen in original cars including my own are grey. Green is the more common hook color but I have seen gray also. If I remember correctly, the hook for rubber bumper cars is the same shape but does not have the stamped part number. Rubber bumper car hooks I've seen were green too. I don't think hook color had anything to do with early vs late but instead a different supplier. My August 70 car has the tube shaft......

Just found this post from looonng ago while searching for info on the rubber bumper 71 Plymouth jack hook. I have two of the rubber bumper hooks. Both are grey and only have the pentastar stamped in them no part numbers...I can post pics over the weekend if anyone is interested seeing in them. I also have a green Canadian hook that has the part number and pentastar stamped on the face which is unusual as most have it on the inside...
