Hello I have a 62 dodge with a 69 727 in it. I was planning on using a push button shifter in it but never got it to work. 1 of the things I had to install was a soft detent spring in the valve body but I never took it out after installation and I am using a vintage B&M type 60 shifter when shifting thru the gears it feels real sloppy almost at the point of not feeling it shift ,could that be from the spring or the old shifter ?

The spring IS the feel when shifting, the soft spring will make the detents almost unnoticeable.
