Stealing those pictures. That is HILARIOUS.

i forwarded those pics to my brother in california, because whenever i see something like this, it reminds me of the neighbor kid up the street that was a "tweeker" long before that term became known. anytime i run into a mess like that i have to fix, i call it ""the paul kepple school of wiring". [joel, please don't take offense as your car is FAR from coming from that "school" !] the kid's name was paul kepple [or a couple of other aliases, depending on which one he thought the officers might not know him by.], and, believe it or not, he took a wiring coarse at the local trade school in order to have a productive education and job.[er, well, that didn't work out so well after all......] my brother responded after recieving joel's pics was : "only thing missing is the scotch tape[a favorite "substitute" of paul's] and a hatchet [paul's method of cutting wires because he lacked a good pair of wire cutters]. my brother really enjoyed those pics ! thanks joel ! bow biggrin

Had a good outing at the track last night, have a few things to work on in the tune but after going over some data today I have a good idea of where to go. I struggled with the 60ft with the 360 and this motor as well and now I think I know why.

It went 11.12@120.4 in air that was not tragic but certainly not good. No complaints, drove it to work, got several passes in at the track, and drove it home. I need to get it on a scale and see what the old fish weighs with the R1 W2 combo, it's not going to be pretty, probably 3575 or more(with 240lb driver).

The weight loss thread really had me pumped to do some work in that area and I have done totally the opposite, both with myself and the car haha.

Ok, I give up. Does anyone know a good, reliable automatic transmission hard parts supplier for Mopar 904 and 727 parts? I try to use sponsors of this board and it continually bites me in the butt.

Called TCS and ordered the Steel front drum with big aluminum piston for the 904. The K123800S. He quoted 574.50, exactly what the website says. He asked if I wanted the big piston model, and asked if I wanted the spring Module which is separate, so I knew we were talking about the same part.

Today, after paying 36.22 shipping, and having B of A ding me 18.26 for foreign currency exchange (Canada), I have a nice, new K123900S 727 front drum!! It lists for 595.00, but they graciously discounted it to 574.50...Thanks, thanks alot!

After my fiasco with Cope last year, and now this. Every time I plan to upgrade my 904 with time constraints, I get hosed.

A days drive from Dave and Darren Smith and you're still fighting this.....

I'm half tempted to offer up my Lofgren unit I've got sitting here.

....so what on the car would make me go, "wt7 were you thinking". Good lines? Good cooler? Shifting down manually while moving? ....and check the fluid level buddy!

Why are you hosed? If THEY sent you the wrong drum, are they not making it right and refunding any extra costs incurred with the swap?

I will call them in the morning, but it took six days for this one to arrive, so even if they ship another one, I'll be in Oklahoma by then.

I'm going to take a chance that the trans will make it as is. I don't want to have it out and trying to get it back in 2 days before we head to Ohio.

Because the parts arrived late from Cope last July, it still has the big factory spring in the front drum, and alto smooth clutches. I'm probably just paranoid, but the MPH has been down a couple since the first two hits of DW last year.

Last night, I installed subframe connectors in Joel's GTX. The dual fuel system is now 90% complete, and we are gaining on the CAR being complete. Joel still has to finish the engine, but is taking the next couple days off of work, and we should be OK. Hopefully we can get a few street miles on, before we load up and head out next Friday night. Going to be tight, but we WILL be going...

Billy will probably be wrenching on 4 different cars in the tech line. Clark looks to be ready to go, same with OutlawD (I think I've seen his test marks on Napier rd...). Jeff/Joel, sounds like you'll make it. Is plan C to take the 'vert in case of any other last minute snafus with the FAST car?

Oops...was it that obvious? I don't usually do that kind of thing so close to civilization.

Heading to Milan tonight if the weather holds for some proper testing. McCormack couldn't tell me when my new tires would be in after over a week, Summit will have them here tomorrow.

I feel like I am ready and that scares me. I did order a Leash Electronics Dual 70 amp relay board for my fuel pumps and fuel cooler fan. What I have is working but this is an upgrade that will also clean up the install.

I didn't have a real good spot for the fuel cooler so it;s pretty visible behind the car. It is easily removed so I will likely take it off when not drag weeking. The sweet sounds of the engine are starting to be compromised by electric fan noise.

I put "Install battery charger on Convertible" on Joel's list of things to do for Drag Week...

We should be OK. I'm really burned out right now between my odd work hours (4am-2pm), and trying to help on the car. It's a good thing for Joel, I have no social life.

YUp, Jeff is hard at work while I goof off almost full time.

Here he is welding in the frame ties.

Since I'm a rookie at cutting pistons, it is taking me a while. I am kind of sneaking up on it, cut some, then assemble and test. So I don't take of any more than needed. I can't go backwards with the mill!

We should be ready for Drag Week in time, if nothing major goes wrong.

Billy I know it's getting late. But have you ordered from A and A Trans.? They are reliable and have a huge inventory.
You could have it shipped to OK.
Good luck! Don

Well Billy..........the obvious thing here is, you have had a year and KNOWING how things work in the hot rod game, as far as getting parts...........why are you waiting until the last minute to upgrade the trans?......again...........LOL!!!!

Sure, we all get mad when we get sent the wrong stuff or it comes late. But when that causes us to miss a deadline because we put off ordering them for nearly a year.........well, you get the point........LOL!!!!

In fairness to Billy, it took him a year after DW15 to save up the six bills for the part smile
