So I drove my '67 Fury to Carlisle this year instead of the '68 I've been taking since 2003. I was concerned about the starter (enough to bring a floor jack, stands and another starter) and the slow idle (a couple of turns of a screwdriver fixed that), but it got me there and back, plus trips between the hotel and the fairgrounds, with no real drama.
But, on the way home, it became clear that coolant was leaking from under the dash--enough that stuff in the passenger footwell was getting wet from sitting on the carpet. I have a white towel I use to protect the dash pad from the sun when the car's parked, and that absorbed enough that I had to hang it out to dry when I got home. The coolant level in the radiator is significantly lower than it was when I left for Carlisle.
So obviously I've got a leaky heater core. This is a factory-a/c car. How screwed am I as far as finding a replacement part, let alone installing it?

Probally hard to find a new one.Ther was one place Atlas Obselete parts in Columbus that has lots of stuff.You could probally get it recored if the core is leaking.Not sure how the tubes go in but on my 65 B body they are held in with a rubber oring and many times they leak.I think classic industrys nhas one.Pricey if its the one.Rocky

in the meantime I would bypass the hoses (which I'm sure you have already done) then modulate a garden hose water pressure on a heater core nipple to gently get the rest of the AF out of the core till you get another core lined up. that stuff is a gooey mess

It's been too damn hot to work on cars since I got back from Carlisle, but I do intend to bypass the hoses (most likely by just hooking one to both nipples on the water pump).
I'm not looking forward to working under that dash, especially with the wet carpet.

(I'm also going to get an oil-pressure gauge on the '68 soon and determine whether I've got a bad engine or just a bad sending unit.)
