Fired up my freshened up 496 and ever since has a stumble hot. Plugs are light gray in color, I use VP 110. Idles smooth at 1200 RPM, but has stumble right of idle. Carb is a 4150 1000 cfm Pro-systems carb. Tried richer on mixture screws, still the same problem. Timing at 34 degrees. I did change the cam to 274/280 from a 268/272 flat tappet.

Primary Main 84
hi air 32
idle air 76
idle feed 35
PV 6.5

Thanks Matt

Do you have a wideband.........How much t-slot exposure do you have w/butterflies closed cos a .076 is a bit lean unless you have major t-slot exposure. Stumble like blubber rich or like falls on it`s face.........

maybe lengthen the acc pump adjuster a wisker tad.... I run my timing at 32 total not that it has any effect on an off idle stumble

1200 rpm is fairly fast so you might have the throttle blades open too far. Check your t-slot exposure like mentioned above. If your throttle blades are open too far then you should close them and either open the secondaries a small amount or drill holes in the throttle blades. You want the throttle blades set so only a small portion of the t-slot is showing at idle. Once those are set correctly then you can start figuring out if you are lean or rich at idle. Get the idle sorted out then figure out if you are lean or rich at cruise.

Did you degree this cam in off the cam card or lobe seperation angles? If not maybe it is time to do that twocents Light grey with race gas is probally a little richer than I would run it, try leaning the idle AFR down to see if that helps scope I've seen motors stumble both from being to lean and to rich shruggy

to me it is idling way way too fast, then with that lowered I'd want to know what the initial is

I agree... at that throttle position can you turn in
the mixture screws and kill the engine... you might be
open too far and are not in the idle circuit anymore and
make sure the pump starts to move as soon as you touch
the throttle.... and is it warmed up... cold it would
want to be fatter(think choke)
