A friend of mine is looking to purchase one of those mini tig welders that you can almost carry around like the size of a small tool box. I think they may even run on 110 current also.

i bought mine from harbor freight, it runs on 220 though. think it was around 200 bucks. it is a 130 amp tig and also a 200 amp stick welder.

sears had one for around 220$ and ran on 110volts.

I know of a guy that drilled and tapped a tip for his 110volt mig welder and put a carbon tip in the wire tip. it worked great I think he added a foot pedal from a singer sewing machine. Good Luck!
