Bill is ok. He is back from the hospital and sore. The important thing is the safety features performed their duties.

This won't keep Bill down for long!

Man, you people are really good at putting words in my mouth. I never meant to piss on MCH. What is the matter with you?

Dave, everybody is a little gun shy after the bashing they all got from another ss/ah guy and friend. I hope your not going to rope off your pits from us too.

Did you put a stick in your A/sa car or is it a mistake on Nhra part in the listing?

Also thank you for your Input.

Wild Bill is ok! He has bruised ribs and is very sore. I talked to them last night and they were getting ready to come home. I was to meet them at Norwalk today and then head to Indy on Sunday. Wild Bill will be back!

The SS/AA corvette is allowed to run replacement cylinder heads that are far away from what was originally produced for that car - whereas the replacement Hemi head is identical to the original head. corvette head vastly superior to the original head

I see!! Thank you for the info.

So the intakes and head port design that the hemi's are running in SS/AH today are not far more superior than originally produced?

Yes the Hemi intake and exhaust are far better than they were before - but the replacement vette heads are even a step up also - the motor location and the wheelbase are also significant factors --

Oh boy!!! We could go on for days about this. I love the Hemi cars (Darts or Fishes) but these cars are pretty much built like comp cars now a days, far from factory specs.

Brian I will TOTALLY AGREE with you - these cars are SO far from what was the original intent for SuperStock -- Most of the people today have no idea what the 60's and 70's produced for performance cars. It is a shame the way SS racing in particular and all drag racing in general has evolved.

boy isn't that the truth, I couldn't agree more.

how ever the rules change it is still one of the best class to watch next to stock.

Brian --- and I totally agree that Stock and Super Stock are the only classes to watch - BUT -- the allowed rules have taken some of the fun out of it --- How many have ever gone to the cheby dealer and bought a rear wheel drive cobalt with a v8, tunnel ram and clutchless trans ??

Gone too far - and will be the eventual death of "sportsman" racing (now is that an oxymoron?)

NHRA is requesting comments on a proposed 2007 rules change that would combine traditional SS & GT classes. Of note to the hemi cars, is the following:

"Also, current SS/GT frame and suspension rules would apply to all bodies; i.e. aftermarket lower control arms would be legal on a 1968 Camaro or Barracuda."

So maybe now we can get rid of these old outdated suspensions. It will definately make these cars safer.

Julie, give me one example of a car that has had safety issues from the stock suspension. This type of thing is what kills the original S/S class. I would also like to mention that we have a customer that goes 230+ MPH at Bonneville with stock front end parts. I believe its around 5000 pounds too.

Yes I did. I had it out a few times since I entered but had some trouble hooking it up. So for Indy I'm installing the automatic back in. But man it was fun banging gears like that. Can't wait to do it again.

Its just taking the stock out of super stock. Couple more years they will be Jerry Haas pro stock cars with cuda and dart skin.
