The blue cap is simply an aftermarket part on some kind of dist.
We will need a better pic of the dizzy to get a good ID.

how about moving the radiator hose...and
you have a blue distributor cap....

look on the distributor itself for a part number..a model number...

take the cap off and take a picture of the distributor up close...

i don't have any more recent pics and unfortunately my car isn't home (no garage) so i can't go snap a pic. i had this one from a while ago and i thought maybe the color of the cap would identify a brand i hadn't seen...but i'll get more info when i get back to the car.

That's a March bracket assembly and adjuster on your alternator, I'm no help otherwise.

it doesn't look like that anymore..it runs now! still no interior but under the hood is pretty squared away. i will snap some pics this weekend. there were all kinds of problems as the wiring had been cut out and toggle switches installed. i didn't do the rewiring, i have to admit.

my "guess" would be a lean burn unit with the "high quality" blue streak parts store cap, i don't see a vacuum advance

i appreciate all the wisecracking... i wasn't joking because, before the 440 source tip, i couldn't find any blue caps. they said:

Quote:

We also offer female (stock type looking) replacement caps for our distributors. This is a BLUE COLOR replacement cap...

clearly i am not an expert on distributors...i have installed two and i already had them.

A lot of after market caps are blue so that makes telling the dizzy by the color of the cap impossible. You need to get a picture of the distributor or the #s off the tag on it. I have a blue cap that I got at O'Reilly's on my 408 stroker.
