hi, i am new to the forum. i figured i would share my project. in June of 2000. me and my dad bought a father son project on eBay. a 1973 challenger basket case. the rear quarters were gone. firewall was rotted. holes in the drivers floor. the car needed a lot of love. i had went to school for auto body and was working at a shop at the time. so we got to work sand blasting the whole car. installed new rear quarters and rear inner fenders. shaved the door handles. then life started to get in the way. i got married.we had a son. A few years later we got a divorce. then the custody battle..... the car sat and sat. so finally it was around 2010 the dust had settled. i had some money to start working on the car again just no time. i sent it to one of the shops i had worked at to have them finish the body work and get it in paint. that was a bigger mistake than my first wife. 7k later the wasn't ready for paint and the work that they did do was total crap. disgusted with the whole thing i almost traded it for a rockcrawler. i am glad that fell through. in Dec of 2015 i pulled it out of the shop and brought it home. since then i have replaced the firewall, inner fenders welded in a us body source inner fender braces. started sand blasting the car again. i have ordered a control freak front suspension kit with wilwood brakes.

mocked up the new one. switched to a non a/c firewall because i am going to run a vintage air setup and i think the one for the non a/c looks better (less holes)

i had the body shop weld in the xv inner fender braces. the welds the shop did and the design xv did both sucked. DOM to sheet metal is not a good idea

That's a truck load of Mopar goodness right there. New tubular k frame, Viking coil overs, Wilwood spindles, flaming river rack and pinion. It feels like Christmas. It's even snowing.
