Ok everyone I rebuilt my transmission last year Ha Ha. Well this year it had to come back out, imagine that. The transmission had a number of problems so Im not trying that again. Anyway while its apart I am getting a new low gear set in it. My 60' times were pitiful last year with the new 31" tall tires. 1.62 to 1.64. With the new gears I feel it will be in the low 1.50s again. best time last year was 11.31 @ 119.5. What do you think it will do for my 1/4 times. I did not even get it up to the shift light last year in high gear. My light is set at 7200

Thanks Bubba, Long time no hear. I got screwed on the Pinks tickets. Darn thing timed out on me trying to get my tickets. I got Dave (bubba) Lewis doing my trans for me now. Hope to get it back next week. Mr P, I had 28" tires on it prior to last year. So moving up to 31s really hurt my 60s. My old 60s were 1.52 to 1.56.

On your first post you say you may have messed the trans up yourself, is it posso=ble the trans had internal porblems causig some of the performance problems? if so maybe all of that loss will be regained? I'm sure the low gear set will help your 60 ft. times as long as it doesn't cause more wheelspin than before. I have been using the Moapr Brand 727 low gera ratio since the late 1980 in my olb AS/A class car and my current street and strip bracket car Let us know how it works out and the reults
Mr.Cab Racing and winning with Mopars since 1964. (Old F--t, Huh)

I don't think a low gear set will help. not a big fan of them. fix your problems and your 60" should come back around. you have plenty of gear imo.
I believe it'll help him alot, he went from a 88" rollout tire to a 96" tire

I guess we will see, he should have enough hp and converter he shouldn't need it imo. car is not heavy so I wouldn't run it.

You are right. The trans builder said it was eating itself up inside. Broken sprag, pump seal messed up and a few other things. He said he was suprised it moved at all. I figured the low gear would help move my boat due to lower torque of a small block.
