I recently picked up a 66 Satellite that I have been looking at for some time. It has the stock 361 in it now and I plan on taking that out and dropping in a 440. The 440 is a 73 block out of motorhome. I would like to build a nice street motor for cruising around town and blowing doors off some young kids in their imports.......and those chevy folks too! And I'm on a limited budget! Anyone out there have any Ideas on a good combination?? And what are some "Must Dos" or "donts"?

For a cheap build, leave the bottom end alone if it's in good shape. Put on a set of Stealth heads and an RPM intake with an 850 DP carb and a cam around .525 range and let it EAT!!!!
Snap your neck, mega G-force launch, is all I want!

That's the biggest issue. Are you boring it out and putting in new pistons or just wanting to work with the stock short block?
