This is the latest product of MR2 Performance, a new SS/AH car, filmed during initial testing at Gateway back a little over a week ago.

Car will make it's competition debut at the upcoming Indy Div. 3 meet (sorry, not enough time to make the tow to Bella Rose).

Thanks to MR2 Performance and Steve Morris Racing Engines for helping to make this dream a reality in only 2 and half short months of long days and long weekend.

Darn, can't see the video at work (blocked).

We are leaving Wednesday after work to drive to Belle Rose. We have attended every year so far and were hoping to be taking the car by now but circumstances have prevented that. The past two shows have been awesome and I am sure this one will be even better.

As far as favourites go I would have to say Harry Holton is the best and I am sure he will have a race horse under Jeggie as well as the other two West Coast cars. Second will have to be Jim Pancake, he is flexing a lot of muscle right now and was last years runner up to the Warfish and would have beaten Westcott had he not lit the red bulb. Harry and Jim are class acts as they made my little girl feel so special last year, Pancake put her in his car and took a lot of time explaining things to her and then the topper was later in the day when Harry put her in the Harcuda and then had her ride with him to the staging lanes. You could not wipe the grin off her face. She still talks a about Harry all the time and has his picture hanging on her bedroom wall.

For sure anyone who will have bragging rights after this race will have to beat the Warfish. I am sure he will be ready for them. I am sure Charlie builds good horsepower but that car is one of the most consistent performing chassis out there. It looks the same on every pass and seldom spins the tires.

Are any Moparts members going to Belle Rose? Is so PM me today and maybe we can hook up?

Does anyone have the older videeo's of the Super Cuda maiden voyages? If they could e-mail them to me I would greatly appreciate it?

Great racing and may the best Hemi win.

[quote 1.]i just looked at marie site and she reports that charlie will have a new engine for the shootout, and that he didnt crack any pistons so mrnobody whats up with that?

2.i guess when pancake wins the shootout charlie will have his best engine at bella rose so why didnt he go to vegas?

3.i was at ntr and pancake is still running the numbers.i think that warfish team is in big trouble this year.

go ohio - go pancake -go hemis-

1.My answer to that is that is correct he didn't crack any pistons. Ask charlie when you see him at Bella rose why he didn't go to vegas. When Pancake WINS?

2.Charlie will have a new engine in his car.

3.Time will tell and the best car will win and I think all of them have a chance.

GO HEMIS

we will see who is the fastest when all these guys are on the same track. pancake has stepped up,, but does anyone remember that late last year at atco in worse conditions westcott went an 8.54??? the top three cars are pancake, westcott, and which ever car has the best engine from the west coast hemi clan. ill bet there isnt .03 between the three of them. pancake can drive, so can westcott, so can coughlin. this years shootouts wont be a cake walk for anyone.

Julie,
I was going to go to Bella Rose, but charlie never told me for sure that he was going,And I called him sat and left message and he never called back,so I am guessing he is on his way to bella rose.still have not heard from him.

Sorry you won't be there Mike. I just checked the weather and looks like the temps will be on the warm side, cooling some on Saturday. We've had nothing but rain here in California for the past two months so I'm looking forward to some sunshine. I survived another tax season and am ready to go racing!! Our truck left Sunday, the rest of us fly out tomorrow. My husband is on his Harley headed east and is going to join us, too. Cajun country, sunshine, hemis, family, maybe a side trip to New Orleans...going to be a nice weekend!

Just talked to the westcotts, they just left tonight. They been real busy the last two weeks getting the cars ready to go. Wish all you Hemi guys and gals the best of luck.Have a safe trip to and from Bella rose, and most of all have fun.

Julie, your Hubby on his Harley is a great way to travel not much to load or unload,Plus it sounds like alot of fun. I also love harleys. Harleys and Hemis now that living.

Now, where is a good place to eat near Belle Rose? I never can find a decent place. All I found was a little place up on Highway 1 north of Plaquemine. If all you want is mudbugs, that's the place to go.

Look me up this weekend. I'll be in the blue '73 G/SA Duster. I'm kind of local to the area and I could fill you in on a few good places to eat, depending on what you like of course. This goes for anyone. Be sure you bring proper attire as it was almost 90 degrees here today and hasn't rained in about 6 weeks. Needless to say it's very hot and dry. But, laissez' les bon temps roulez!

Will do. I'm driving down from Dallas on Friday and will be there on Saturday. I need to drop off some Hemi heads at Southland and talk to Doug if he's at the track. Probably will hook up with 64HemiSavoy for the day and I need to see some racer buddies, Jim LeBlanc and Tony Cowell (OK, GM racers, but good people despite their preference for Bowties) and maybe see Jeff from MCH.

I think I've seen your car at the Motorplex. I might have talked to you before if you were in Ennis. "Bon chance" at the races!

I talked to one of the racers in Bella Rose tonight, it was very hot at the strip today somewhere in the high 90's and low 100's,They had a test and tune today most of the Hemis ran about the same E.Ts 8.70 range,This might be the best shootout yet. anybody else have any news please post. thanks

mrno, are any of these guys footbraking? I remember reading an article awhile back where I was surprized to see Rick Houser was still driving off the foot.

I know that some of the guys have trans-brakes but use the footbrake for some reason having the transbrake valve body installed makes footbraking more consistant
