I don`t think any of the parts are serviceable on the cone type sure grip. I think some people have rebuilt them with shim washers and machine work. I`m pretty sure I have a NOS unit somewhere around here.

They are not repairable, were not designed to be repaired. The current manufacturer has a swap program but that's only for units manufactured by Auburn Gear, not the original Borg-Warner.

Do yourself a favor and buy a real limited slip from Doctor Diff.

Actually I have rebuilt a number of these. If it simply the cone/housing wore so that the cone bottoms out, you can remove some from the bottom of the cone. A lathe is best, but you could use a grinder as well. But you should put a shim ( a great big washer) between the inside of the cone and the axle gear to shove it back into proper engagement with the spyder gear. That shim will also load the springs for the preload.

The bearings are standard parts. If you need gears or something that I don't know where you would get.

Now that I have said that, there will be a boat load of people that will tell you the cone type is the worst thing that will happen to you in your life. But I have not found that to be true.

The cone type I rebuilt lasted about 20k miles at most and became a 1 wheel peel again. I won't waste my time with another one.
