Any pics or part number for the carb spacer? Here's a few more....make sure you have a 383 shaker base as they are different than the 340/440 4bbl base, IIRC the 340/440 neck is 1 1/2" tall and the 383 is 2" deep

Thanks for the pics guys. I do have the correct 383 base, but I am also missing the support rod you guys showed.
I will post a pic of the spacer that was under the carb when I bought the car.
Does anybody have some good pics of the wiring of the idle solenoid and the relay on the distributor?
Thanks, The best I can do is some 1970 factory lit, take it with a grain of salt as engineering photos and production may change Mike

This is what was on my car when I got it. I am not sure if this is the OEM spacer or not. I have never seen an original 4 BBL shaker spacer.
Does this look like an OEM piece?
On close inspection it does look bonded together really well.

Technically not a shaker part but a carb/intake part. As stated above Holley HLY-108-18 should be the gasket you need. Terry, wouldn't there be 2 gaskets required?, one under the carb, and one under the spacer?..same gasket?, or alternate PN? mike

pretty sure the 340 and 383 base plates are 3/8" in height diff. just traded with mike ross .. he was careful to be sure it was in fact a 340 plate I had ... the adapter looks like it is about 3/8" to me ? just a thought .. When you say "base plates", I'll assume you mean the actual Shaker base/carb plate", and the adapter you saw? did you have it, or Mike Ross? here's the Shaker base chart

That's awesome! I never could get a hold of the guy that made the 1st run of reproductions.
You have to wonder how rare of a part the factory original support rods are? I have never seen a factory original one on a car or at a swap meet.
