my 2000 dakota is getting long in the tooth, time for something new, looking at a 2004 dodge ram 1500 4x4 short box 4.7,tow package.what i like is the 4.7 and tow package, the truck also has the 4x4 shifter still on the floor, instead
of the switch on the dash.was wondering what these tracks are known for having issues with?also has a weird stripe package with hood blackout and stripes that run behind the cab and says gtx.i have seen the gtx trucks and thought all were hemis also the truck is silver with the back stripes, most gtx trucks] i have seen were high impact colors.also truck has 139,000 miles which is pretty low for a 2004,my dakota has the 4.7 and has 250,00 miles on it.

A 4.7 in a fill size 4x4 will be REALLY disappointing, look for something with a 5.7.

The 4.7 has lifter problems and seem to knock all the time. I have seen one 4.7 maintained regularly had a broke rod that stitched the block at 105,000km.

Stay away.....way away from the 4.7L I have seen in Canada here that the main fuse box front drivers side rot the pin sets off.
