Got a call from a guy I built a motor/trans for a couple years ago. He just got a deal on a 34 (?) Essex hotrod, and offered me his 2 37 Plymouth PU projects...what's a kidney go for down there?

No pics, unfortunately, and it's gonna be a bit before I can get some as everything is covered in snow, but wow...this is a dilemma I didn't need right now!

Now back to your regularly scheduled programming...

No doubt. Hopefully tax time is as nice to me this year as the last couple. Sounds like he'd be fine if he doesn't see any $ till April or so. Here's crossing the fingers...

I will definitely keep that in mind. I slid by the other day and took a brief look...what I could see above the snow looked alright, but that's not alot these days! I will say that things are looking pretty positive on getting them, though...and that makes me happy...

AND I found a Dakota with no engine/trans for 250...things are looking up!

Did that bolt in? Almost wonder if it was modified or someone swapped bed.

New tailgates are readily available from Mack Products (Moberly, Mo.) and are exact duplicates of the original design. They have Dodge, Plymouth and no-script versions available. I paid $225 for my new tailgate a few years ago. Even if you had the correct tailgate, you can't do much work on an old original tailgate for that price.

Just for the record, I hate you.

Not really, but I wish I had your problem. Gene

Its a Plymouth bed, I guess the Willies gate is the same size, I was told I can get a good part of my $$ back towards the right gate.

That is interesting on the Willys tailgate. I do know that later Studebaker tailgates fit as well since Studebaker used Dodge beds on their Lark-nosed pickup model.

Well, I threw ½ the money down on them yesterday. He needs the balance by April, so that works really well for me, and I found a Dakota, complete w/out engine/trans for a reasonable price, so that takes care of the basics I need...now I need to trip on a 4Bt Cummins!
