Not that it matters, I'm just curious. This is a stock iron '68 383 4 bbl intake. The 2 front runners for cylinders 1 & 3 have been lightly ground on in the roof.

If an intake came out of the mold with some rough casting hanging in the runner, was it sent off somewhere too be cleaned up?

The rest of the runners are untouched.

Somebody port matched the roof on those two runners. Grinding looks too fresh to be 40+ years old. Never saw one touched by the factory on a stock motor - doesn't mean it never happened, just never saw it.

Probally some hot rodder took the time to do that work, not a UAW worker shruggyI had a 1968 426 street hemi intake that had some mild deburring at the edge of the intake ports to head mating surfaces in most of the intake runners, nothing as deep or in as far as yours are shruggy I've seen a lot of stock Mopar intake, BB, Hemi and SB that had a lot worse mismatched intake runners to head port size than yours look like, no deburring or gasket matching on them confused

This intake was in my collection of jun...err, spare parts for years. I just soaked it in Evaporust for a couple of days, that's why it's so shiny.

I kinda figured it was just some guy trying his hand at porting.

The wedge intakes and heads were not cleaned up. I have seen some ugly casting flash and such in the ports. Never seen them ground. I have seen street hemi ports slightly ground as Cab said above.
