I'm tired of waiting, tired of the BS so I challenge myself to push an Edelbrock small block head past the 330 cfm mark. PISS on you guys and your delays we will hit that mark with your OLD head or else. I'm already past 318 with an intake bolted on and Harlan Sharp said they will supply me with a rocker(to push the stock pinch over) at at very fair price. STOCK pistons too. We are pushing the limits but tired or waiting. Oh ya I'm only up to a 2.08 vavle to so its user Friendly. GAMES ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well I'm still waiting. When they do finally come out I'll sell all my W8 stuff and pick up where I left off in 2012 I'm tired of waiting and I think I can surpass their CRAP. How many years is this now????? I think it will be pretty embarrassing as I won't publish CORRECTED DYNO numbers but true weekly race numbers. Already went 9.73 last year on a tired 408 without moving the pushrod. (at pump gas compression)

Hughes sells rockers just for that, don't know who makes them.
On those heads it seems to me you could find some more CFM raising the roof more than most guys do, particularly near the PR pinch. Find someone to add a little metal on the roof of all the ports, at least level with the valve cover surface. Combine that and the offset PR and I bet you can do it.

and what is your race weight? Dywayne could barely get that from my indy head. he found water twice on one head. he was glad to get them out of his shop. It went a 9.73@135.05 mph with a .030 over 360 block and flat top pistons in the middle of Summer last year. The block is in real bad need of a bore job. It has 5 hard seasons on it at that size. I bought some VERY nice Wiseco pistons for it but my Son has it in his Duster for now. The new pistons are .060 over so I have to sonic check the block first.

it was 2012 that they announced it would be "soon"... that's why I sold off my W5 crap in anticipation of something that still hasn't happened. Pretty pathetic isn't it.

Ya, and it will be next season before you can buy a one off set of $800 headers and $1200 rockers for your $4000 heads that will need a $400 valve job! lol!

I got tired of waiting and being told bull crap by them also so I got a set of 360-1 cnc heads that are the raised port program and set-up by Ryan J at SDSS.

Matt you are absolutely right on the parts. That's the reason I didn't go that route this time. Also it seems that a lot of guys that know the GenIII stuff aren't talking unless you're buying something. So I went with a R1 Indy head deal. RAMM and I put together a W9 for engine masters. Or should I say He put it together and I supplied the parts. LOL Hopefully we will have some G3 builds this year. I'm thinking with the amount of $$$$ that went into the W9 I could of done the same with less with a G3. Now keep in mind, IMO there is a limit to all this. Sub 750 hp and I believe a G3 would be cheaper. Anything north of that and everything would be big $$$$.

Where you come up will the expensive hemi comedy routine every time is beyond me

So call it what it is, you have alot of good parts you bought in the 80s for dirt cheap and to start over would not make your wallet happy paying 2016 prices

[quote=justinp61]John, what does your car weigh? [/quot
2800 with me in the seat and race ready. I weighted 2550 when my son drove it as he is a hair lighter, I removed the fiberglass doors and installed stock doors with working windows, alternator, bigger radiator, racepak dash, wiring and sensors, and a few other items to make it very racer friendly
1970 Duster Edelbrock headed 408 5.984@112.52 422 Indy headed small block 5.982@112.56 mph 9.42@138.27

The core cost ain't bad around here, $500 gets a good early 5.7, and parts availability is not bad, eagle or even apache heads are way cheaper than edelbrock SB heads... if your willing to spend $1000 on an intake, $1000 on headers, $2000 on EFI or IGN/harness/carb, $500 for an oil pan, got to get a new flywheel/flexplate, none of you SB accessories bolt on, the stroker kits are about $500 more and so on and so on...
