As of today 3-05-2006 here is a list of SS/AH cars that will be at the gators.

1.Fred Henson 68 Dart
2.Wendell Howes 68 Cuda
3.Eddie Smith 68 Cuda
4.Joey Wilkes 68 Cuda
5.Darrell Marvel 68 Cuda
6.Jerry Caro 68 Dart

The Barton Group
7.Al Smyth III 68 Cuda Stick

8.JIM PANCAKE- 68 Cuda--NEW RECORD HOLDER

9.Michael Barton/R Mahan 68 Cuda New Car
10.David Barton 68 Dart
11.Bob Wolkwitz 68 Dart
-------------------------------------
12.John Gifford 68 Cuda
13.Mark Howes 68 Dart New Car
14.Mike Smith 68 Cuda




Only a Total of 110 Super Stock Cars are allowed,111 have enter and by the looks of the list the only Mopars enter are these cars, and 2 in in another class of Super Stock. Grade point 4 gets to enter on 03-05-06 and they did QUTOA IS FULL For Super/Stock now. NHRA is going to have to do something so all SS/AH cars can race,since they could almost meet the quota of 110,If all 87 want to race at the same event like Indy.

UPDATE FIELD IS FULL.

I really think NHRA should look at allowing an all run field for the Hemi Shootout on Friday and allow the cars with grade points to go on to the SS eliminator(bracket race). The shootout has become more than just a class eliminator. It has become it's own prestigous race!! Mopar should request NHRA to do this. I think it would be a hit with the fans and racers. Maybe we should start an email campain to NHRA asking for this?

Jody, I also think they should allow all SS/AH cars to run in the shootout this year,Because most of the new guys won't have grade points to get to Indy this year. With Pancake setting the record at 8.61 at Bella rose this past weekend its going to be a super season.

I would look for the top guys to be in the 8.50 soon.


One has to wonder if these guys find new way to make the 68 run better every year with lots of R&D maybe the Pro Stock teams need to find out what going on in this class.


What do you guys think will end up the record before the season is over???????

Well if they get mineshaft conditions I think you may see a low 8.50. I don't think they will get into the high 8.40's but it would be great if I was wrong!

Bella Rose will be the First Hemi Shootout that I belive you will see with alot of the New and old SS/AH Cars if I have to guess I would think about 30 cars will be in the field.

i was wrong before saying that holton had the quickest run uncorrected(8.56). he has the quickest on the books, doing it first round of eliminations at belle rose last year, but westcott went an 8.54 on test day at atco last fall.

Westcott is going to MATS so cancel coming to this race.
I think Henson still has his Barton engine in his car.Saving his westcott engine for Bella rose Hemi shootout.

Hey Mike, we're hearing rumors that Charlie found some problems with his motor and, therefore, he's not coming to Vegas. Any truth to that? We're having problems with new motor. These things sure are temperamental!!

Hi Julie,I am down in sunny fl,and when I left Michigan the only problem I know charlie was having is too much business in the drywall business and builting motors,he was working 16 hour days and has been for some time,I did talk to him on the phone early this a.m and he was busy working on more engines.He also just got his car back from the chassis shop this past week.
