I just found this photo on line. It is identified as Rich Locker. It looks like an old DeFrank & Cohen car. Anybody know anything about it? Should we add it to the list?

The west coast Hemis Team VS the East,south and midwest. Nitro Joe Jackson is a member of moparts and will be event director.and where Nitro goes the SS/AH cars go. The WARFISH is on his way to pick up one of his cars from the chassis shop,Now which one will show up at vegas? He is not going to the gators,but going to vegas,to test before the race at the strip. JULIE we need a list of the ones you and michael know that are going.

Hey, Mike, I'm buried at work and can't keep up with all this SS/AH stuff!! We'll have our 3 cars there. I believe Mark Vierra will be there. John Raines is supposed to be in attendance with his new Westcott motor. I'm sure Mazz and the DeFrank team will be in attendance, also. Other than that, I have no clue!!

I'm working 24/7 so I can fly in on Thursday night to help my team and I'll fly back home Sunday morning to get back to work. Only 6 more weeks until April 15!!

How come they dont have unadjusted records, only reason I ask is a friend of mine Hopkins holds it,I think he ran in the 8.6's last year, anyway Randy is down south somewhere go luck to him he had some real bad luck last year down there.

I don't know what you mean by unadjusted record. However, Randy doesn't hold the record nor has he (ever, I believe). He ran 8.60's in Florida 2 years ago and hasn't really been close since.

Looks like im going to have to go to national trails for the sport nationals so i can watch the A cars. Should be a lot of fun

julie are you saying that by the same standard that hopkins hasnt ran even close,,that the west coast hemi team doesnt have two cars that run ever close to each other?? i always see your dads car .07-.10 quicker than mikes car or jerry's car.

when hopkins ran that 8.62 it ran a real good front half, but stunk in the back half,, it only went 147 something if i remember correctly,, but went 1.12 60 ft or so. at that time even if the record wasnt an altitude corrected deal, it still wasnt the quickest run that year,, im sure holton was.

i dont like altitude corrected records,, running in 2000ft d.a. air with a .20 correction is exactly like the rare air you see at certain tracks,, but usually the weather that goes along with it isnt cooperative,, rain,, cold,, so on. its alot easier to get a car down the track with 60 less horsepower just to get the power back in the correction on the time sheet.

i havent/dont complain about the altitude corrected records that holton has had because he has/is the fastest car in the land. westcott is catching up, but i believe that holton wasnt running up to snuff at indy in '05 and was about .04 slower than he should have been, up till the day of class then they tuned it up.

people are catch ing up,, and some guys are hard headed to work on what they believe is the right way to go for their combos. im that way, and little joes car at indy was a pig,, we didnt fix it till after the race and kept working on it till it became obvious what was wrong,, now we have a better understanding of what was going on and hopefully we can nuture that for more et/horsepower. randy is the same way, even when he ran that 62, he knew it wasnt the best and kept working on it and lost the combo,, it wouldnt run in bad air,, only cold air,, so that combo was pushed aside. we will see this weekend whether he has picked anything up or not, but he has carb problems,, as does joe,, we will hopefully get joe, randy,, and everyone else fixed up to whatever i can do for them in help by the sports nationals then we will see where everyone lies on the food chain. im sure holton and westcott will be top dogs,, but wilkes, hopkins, teuton, caro, henson,, and so on will be right there.

im not trying to harass you julie,, but when you reread that post about randy,, do you see it sounding a little belittling??

That is what I was asking,I just now that he ran really good and it was unadjusted, to bad the couldnt have 2 sets of e.t.'s records but I can see the problems with that.

Jeff, I'm sorry you inferred that I was belittling Randy as that wasn't my intention at all. I was just correcting the poster who said that Randy held the record and that, yes, he did run in the 60's at that one race but, for whatever reason, hasn't had much success hitting that barrier again. Just a short, to the point, and accurate response. Don't make it any more than it was, please.

lets not drag this out I dont want to get into any disputes over this subject,what is the fastest run made in this class "unadjusted"

julie, when you read it thats what it sounds like. i read it to a few ss guys and they thought the same thing. im not making it into anything,, just telling you how that sounded the way you worded it.

the quickest run ever is holton i believe,, 8.56

fastest run ever is westcott,, dont know mph, but almost 154mph,, he had a 157 before but had a tail wind and he though the clocks were messed up.
